Calling all visionary designers, artists, and creatives — the Corset Revival Project is here to rewrite fashion history.
150 donated corsets, saved from landfill, are waiting to be reimagined. This unique challenge invites designers, students, and makers to transform these historic garments into stunning new creations — celebrating heritage while championing sustainability.
Why Corsets?
Corsets have shaped fashion for centuries, both literally and figuratively. Today, they represent not just beauty and craftsmanship, but also resilience and reinvention. By giving discarded corsets a new life, the project highlights fashion’s ability to evolve while preserving history and reducing waste.
What’s in it for you?
Selected participants will gain much more than creative satisfaction:
- Global Exposure: Showcase your work at the International Circular Fashion Week Conference 2026.
- European Stage: Be featured at the Budapest Global Sustainable Fashion Week Conference.
- Local & International Exhibitions: Designs will be displayed at Fabrication, an independent shop & creative workspace, alongside touring exhibitions.
- Professional Recognition: Receive high-quality photography of your finished garment, media features, and potential press coverage.
- Publication Spotlight: Selected works will be featured in a professional publication, giving lasting visibility to your design.
- Charitable Impact: Finished pieces will be included in an exhibition and sale, with proceeds supporting St. Gemma’s Hospice Charity.
This is more than a project — it’s an opportunity to leave your mark on the future of fashion while contributing to heritage and sustainability.
The Creative Challenge
The rules are simple but powerful:
- No new fabrics — all creations must use discarded, reclaimed, or surplus materials.
- Keep it whole — the corset must remain intact, honoring its original form while reimagining its role.
- Push boundaries — show how corsets can be worn in contemporary ways, from bold statement pieces to everyday treasures.
