In 2016, we founded the Global Sustainable Fashion Week in Budapest to invite renowned speakers, fashion designers, companies, organisations, and institut-ions professionals from all over the world who do a lot for the sake of a sustainable and green economy, consider social responsibility important, take joint action, and support our aspiration that the textile, clothing, and fashion industries within the economy also move towards circular, environmentally conscious solutions.
Since the fashion industry is one of the most polluting sectors and has many negative impacts on our environment, we aim to address this topic through our activities, showcasing best practices and solutions that can form the foundation for further collaboration among the participants. Over the past years, many domestic and international joint projects and work relationships have been established through the #GSFW platform and during personal meetings and matchmaking.
Therefore, it is not necessarily only about the problems of the fashion industry, as we see that the transition to a circular economy, reducing the carbon footprint, using renewable energy sources, and reducing waste also raise important questions in other industries.
Our #GSFW has now become Central Europe’s leading sustainable fashion week, and we are proud that this comprehensive international event—featuring international conferences, workshops, press conference, related programs, and an international sustainable fashion show takes place in Budapest, Hungary.
